Alex Niemczyk appointed as newest Director of Women in Bus and Coach

We are delighted to announce that our Managing Director, Alex Niemczyk, has been appointed as the newest board director of Women in Bus and Coach (WiBC).

The WiBC initiative aims to create a national network for women in the bus, coach and community transport profession with a core of encouragement, representation, retaining and supporting. It works towards challenging and eliminating barriers women face within the industry, to create a more inclusive environment.

This motivation is mirrored by Alex, and is something he is passionate about championing in his new appointment. Here at Roberts, Alex plays a vital role in leading and developing not only our operations but our staff as a whole. His strong background in operational leadership and commercial strategy, teamed with his commitment to create a positive workplace culture has created an environment where our services and staff can thrive.

Jonathan Hunt, Owner and Chairman of Roberts Travel Group, said: “We are incredibly proud to see Alex appointed as a Director of Women in Bus and Coach. His appointment reflects not only his leadership within Roberts Travel Group, but also his genuine commitment to strengthening our industry for the future. Alex understands that meaningful progress comes from visible leadership and active allyship. He is passionate about creating opportunities for people to join, develop and build long-term careers within the bus and coach sector, and he consistently champions high standards, inclusivity, and professional growth across our business.” He continued: “His involvement with WiBC is a natural extension of the work he already does — supporting talent, encouraging progression, and helping shape a sector that better reflects the communities it serves. I have no doubt he will make a valuable contribution to the Board and to the wider industry.”

Alex’s appointment will see him lead WiBC’s national strategy for the coach sector, and his appointment further strengthens Women in Bus and Coach’s mission to champion greater diversity and inclusion across the industry, and to support more women to join, stay and progress into leadership roles.

Speaking about his appointment, Alex shares: “I’m proud to be joining the Women in Bus and Coach Board at such an important time for our industry. The future of our industry won’t be defined by vehicles or infrastructure alone, it will be defined by people. If we want bus, coach and community transport to thrive long term, we must attract broader talent, create clearer progression pathways, and ensure leadership reflects the communities we serve. Inclusion isn’t a “nice to have”, it's essential for the long-term success of our sector.”

We are incredibly proud to have a leader within our organisation who is working to shape the industry into a more inclusive one. We wish Alex all the luck for his appointment, and to see where the industry goes from here!
