National Coach Week

This week marks National Coach Week – a key highlight in the Roberts Travel Group's annual calendar.

The coach industry plays a vital role in keeping our nation connected, from business travel and school runs to seaside holidays and cherished family memories. Roberts has been proud to welcome you on board through all of these moments, alongside our fellow coach operators.

To celebrate, we've taken some time to catch up with various team members across the coach industry to find out what makes them so passionate about their work. No two days are the same in the coach industry, so we were excited to hear just how varied everyone’s roles and perspectives are.

Hear from the people who keep the wheels of the coach industry turning.

Laura East, one of our dedicated drivers: ‘Becoming a coach driver has given me the opportunity to travel to so many different places and meet a wide variety of people. It’s also been incredibly rewarding to see my confidence grow.’

Sophie Urquhart, our lovely Marketing Manager: ‘I'm proud to be part of an industry that’s rich in heritage yet constantly evolving. It’s a privilege to help showcase why coach travel remains one of the best way to explore new places.’

James King, one of our friendly drivers: ‘Getting all the kids to school safely and happily is one of the most joyful and rewarding experiences.’

Justin Chrich, our helpful Transport Planner: ‘I love the coach industry and my role in the operations team as there is always new logistical challenges to overcome every day. No day is ever the same, one day I can be trying to adjust schedules and workloads to cover new jobs and the next I could be driving a coach on a private hire or covering a school run.’

Amanda Williamson, our wonderful PTS Manager- I’m relatively new to the coach industry, but in my role as Service Manager for the Home to School transport section, I’ve quickly come to appreciate just how vital and rewarding this sector is. The coach industry plays a crucial role in connecting communities and supporting families, and I feel passionately about helping to keep it alive and thriving for future generations. It’s a sector full of purpose, resilience, and people who truly care.

It's been great to hear everyones different perspectives on their roles in the coach industry, it takes a lot of people power to keep everything on track and we appreciate everyones hard work.
