This role provides comprehensive support across payroll and finance operations, with responsibility for processing weekly payroll, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with core accounting activities. The position involves working closely with internal stakeholders to respond to payroll and purchasing queries, supporting sales and purchase ledger processes, and contributing to the production of management accounts, reconciliations, and cashflow reporting.
The role suits a highly organised, detail-focused individual who can manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines, communicate effectively, and work confidently both independently and as part of a team. No prior finance experience is required, as full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in finance or payroll.

We have an extensive fleet of executive vehicles which helps us to service our programme of over 500 coach holidays, day trips and short breaks across the UK and Europe. We also operate a wide range of Private Hire jobs for a variety of occasions and provide school transport to thousands of pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing of the weekly payroll including: Recording worked hours from timesheets, creating and distributing payslips, Responding to payroll queries, Processing payroll payments, Submitting payroll records to HMRC
- Assisting with the sales ledger and purchase ledger duties such as checking invoices, filing invoices and statements as well as dealing with purchase enquiries
- Assistance in production on monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, daily banking's and cashflow, credit control as well as ad-hoc duties that come up within the accounting functions
- Bank reconcilliation - regular and full reconciliation of bank account balances to SAGE. Quick resolution and clearance of any errors
- Assist with development and analysis of KPIs
- Assist in ensuring that accounting tasks, analysis and reporting make efficient use of available systems
- Post receipts from the bank
- Maintain the financial records
- Apply accounting knowledge

A little bit about you:
- Education to GCSE standard to include English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
- Experience of planning work and acting under instruction
- Customer facing and administration experience is essential
- Strong keyboard skills and computer literacy
- Numerate, high attention to detail, good telephone manner, good level of written and spoken English, ability to work confidently alone or as part of a team
- Enthusiasm for new challeges
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on results
- No previous experience in finance necessary
