Opened in 1971 by Joe Henson and his old school friend John Neve Cotswold Farm Park was a first of its kind in the world when it first opened its gates to the public to showcase its collection of rare breeds of popular farm animals and breeds native to British farming.
Fast forward to 2001, and a chance oppprtunity saw Joe Hensons son Adam, now owner of the park, send in a tape to BBC programme "Countryfile" after seeing that they werre recruiting for a new presenter. This was exactly what the BBC production team were looking for and Adam was hired, beginning his career in television.
In 2009 this programme gained a primetime slot on Sunday evenings to an average audience of up to 9 million viewers each week - at which point Adam began fronting a weekly segment entitled "Adams Farm", filmed on-location at the mixed farm and encouraging thousands of people to visit and meet some of the characterful animals they featured. The farm has now been a regular feature on the show for almost 20 years and continues to attract visitors keen to explore with their families in 2020.
