For only two nights in 2020 the Massed Bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, some of the worlds finest military musicians, showcase their incredible musicianship and pageantry performing music from the big screen, suberb solo pieces and traditional marches and overtures that have delighted and entertained audiences for decades.

Taking place at one of the UK's most treasured and distinctive concert halls, the Royal Albert Hall - a venue that has seen Musical concerts, International exhibitions, State receptions, Costume balls and much more in its 150 year history - the Mountbatten festival of Music gives the event the "West End" treatment, with spectacular lighting effects, meticulous choreography, and the largest single-room speaker system in the world, installed over a period of 6 months in 2019 and comprising of an astonishing 465 permanently installed individual loudspeakers!

Your hotel for the Mountbatten Festival of Music short break is the award-winning Radisson Blu Hotel at London Heathrow. With its beautiful double-staircase leading into a large striking and spacious welcoming lobby this hotel is ideally situated to visit events in London, and when combined with its comfortable contemporary styled and attractively furninshed bedrooms, makes for an perfect place to relax after returning from your evening performance.

All bedrooms are en suite with free wifi, Samsung SMART HD tv, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer and magnifiying mirror, individual climate control, and iron and ironing board as standard.

The hotel also has Leisure and Gym facilities available on-site which will be made available to you for free as part of your stay.

 

Itinerary

Saturday: This morning we will be departing our Hugglescote Travel Centre at 11:00am and making our way to our hotel at London Heathrow. Making a comfort break stop at a Services station en route for an oppurtunity to strech your legs or grab a bite to eat, we will then arrive at the 4 Star Radisson Blu Edwardian London Heathrow early afternoon for our check-in and to be shown to your rooms. After that you will hav time to relax and freshen up before boarding our coach at 4pm and making our way into Central London and to our venue for the evenings perfomance, the world-renowned Royal Albert Hall.

Arriving in plenty of time to disembark the coach and get your bearings, the main doors for the event will open at 6:45pm. Once you enter the building you will be able to collect your free evening programme before the performance from a representative at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra table located inside the foyer at DOOR 6 between 6:45pm - 7:30pm when you present your concert ticket. There will be bars and restaurants open for you to find refreshments before taking your seat for the start of the performance at 7:30pm.

We have been advised that the finish time for the concert is estimated for 10:15pm. Your Roberts Coach wll be waiting for you after the show to take you back to your hotel. 

Sunday:After breakfast this morning we board our coach and make our way to the Royal Borough of Windsor where you will be given free time to explore this beautiful town, do some shopping, or visit one of many fabulous cafes and restaurants on offer before heading back to the Midlands, arriving at our Hugglescote Travel Centre around mid-afternoon.
