Day 1 Germany
We depart from the travel centre in the early morning and make our way to Dover for the ferry crossing to Calais and onward journey to our overnight Hotel in Saarbrucken
Day 2 Linz – Princess Sisi
An early start this morning as we travel through Germany and into Austria to join our ship, the Princess Sisi in Linz. Shortly after embarkation, the ship begins the cruise and she heads downstream towards Vienna.
Day 3 Bratislava
Our ship makes a short stop in the Vienna region before continuing the cruise to Bratislava, our first port of call. We have a walking tour of the beautiful old town included before we continue cruising towards Budapest.
Day 4 Budapest
This morning, our port of call today is the Hungarian Capital, Budapest where we have a tour to include both sides of this beautiful city..Buda and Pest.
After a fascinating morning we set off again on our cruise towards Belgrade.
Day 5 Belgrade
After a leisurely cruise this morning we arrive in the Serbian capital of Belgrade which we explore on our included tour to see the old Town sights of the cathedral, the historical ‘Question Mark Café, the Palace of Princess Ljubica and the Square of the Republic. We will also enjoy the view of the confluence of the River Sava and Danube before departing from the intriguing city in the evening.
Day 6 Iron Gate Gorge
Today’s highlight is the cruise passage through the iron Gate Gorge where we will see the largest river cliff landscape in Europe on a section of the River that acts as a boundary between Serbia and Romania and is dotted with historical monuments.
We have a full day and night cruising to admire this magnificent sight.
Day 7 Novi Sad
We arrive in the Serbian City of Novi Sad this morning where we have a city tour before embarking on an excursion to Sremski Karlovci and the Fruska Gora National Park. We will visit one of the 17 monasteries, Krusedol, of which 32 were originally built, and noted Europewide for their frescoes.
After another fascinating day we return to our ship and depart for our cruise upstream towards the Hungarian port of Mohacs.
Day 8 Mohacs
This morning from Mohacs our excursion takes us to the Hungarian city of Pecs, with its Mediterranean atmosphere. Pécs enjoys a microclimate on a plain sheltered from the northern winds by the Mecsek Hills, and is known for its fruit production, especially almonds.
Our cruise continues in the afternoon.
Day 9 Esztergom
In the morning we arrive to explore Esztergom, the Royal capital of Hungarian Kings until 13th century, where we have an included visit to the Basilica, the largest in Hungary. Later, we enjoy our last afternoon of cruising as we head towards the Vienna area.
Day 10 Disembark and Germany
We say farewell to our Captain and crew as we disembark after breakfast and journey to our overnight hotel.
Day 11 Return journey
We continue our journey to Calais, taking the ferry to Dover and onward to the Travel Centre, arriving in the mid evening.
